By using our website, you (the visitor) agree that third parties may process your IP address to determine your location for currency conversion purposes. You also agree that this currency will be stored in a session cookie in your browser (a temporary cookie that is automatically removed when you close your browser). We do this so that the chosen currency remains selected and consistent when browsing our website so that prices can be converted to your (the visitor's) local currency.

Cookies
Our website uses cookies to offer you a better user experience. Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer and saved by your browser. They cannot contain malicious code.

  • IP address
  • Browser type and browser version
  • operating system used
  • Referrer URL
  • Host name of the accessing computer
  • Time of server request

SSL encryption
This website uses SSL encryption for security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as the inquiries you send to us as the site operator. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the browser address line changing from “http://” to “https://” and by the lock symbol in your browser line. If SSL encryption is activated, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.

Newsletter data
If you would like to receive our newsletter, we need your email address and your consent to receive the newsletter. We use this data exclusively to send the newsletter. You can revoke your consent to store your email address and use it to send the newsletter at any time, for example using the “Unsubscribe” link in the newsletter.
Registration for our newsletter takes place in a so-called double opt-in process. This means that after registering you will receive an email asking you to confirm your registration. This confirmation is necessary so that no one can log in with a third-party email address.
Registrations for the newsletter are logged so that we can prove that the registration process took place in accordance with legal requirements. This includes storing the registration and confirmation times as well as the IP address. Changes to your data stored with Mailchimp are also logged.

Mailchimp
The newsletter is sent via Mailchimp, a newsletter delivery platform from the US provider The Rocket Science Group, LLC, 675 Ponce de Leon Ave NE, Suite 5000, Atlanta, GA 30308, USA. Both the email addresses of our newsletter recipients and their other data described in this information are stored on Mailchimp's servers in the USA. Mailchimp uses this information to send and evaluate the newsletters on our behalf.
Furthermore, according to its own information, Mailchimp can use this data to optimize or improve its own services, for example to technically optimize the sending and presentation of the newsletter or for economic purposes to determine which countries the recipients come from. However, Mailchimp does not use the data of our newsletter recipients to write to them ourselves or to pass them on to third parties. We trust the reliability and IT and data security of Mailchimp. Mailchimp is certified under the US-EU data protection agreement “Privacy Shield” and is therefore committed to complying with EU data protection regulations.
We have also concluded a data processing agreement with Mailchimp. This is a contract in which Mailchimp undertakes to protect our users' data, to process it on our behalf in accordance with their own data protection regulations and, in particular, not to pass it on to third parties. You can view Mailchimp's privacy policy here .

Statistical survey and analysis
The newsletters contain a so-called web beacon, which is a pixel-sized file that is retrieved from the Mailchimp server when the newsletter is opened. As part of this retrieval, technical information is collected, such as information about the browser and your system, as well as your IP address and the time of retrieval. This information is used to technically improve the services based on the technical data or the target groups and their reading behavior based on the access locations (which can be determined using the IP address) or the access times.
The statistical surveys also include determining whether the newsletters are opened, when they are opened and which links are clicked. For technical reasons, this information can be assigned to individual newsletter recipients, but it is neither our nor Mailchimp's intention to monitor individual users. The evaluations serve us much more to recognize the reading habits of our users and to adapt our content to them or to send different content according to the interests of our users.

Termination / revocation
You can cancel your receipt of our newsletter at any time, i.e. revoke your consent. This means that your consent to sending the newsletter via Mailchimp and to the statistical analyzes expires at the same time. A separate revocation of the sending of the newsletter via Mailchimp and the statistical analyzes is not possible. You will find a link to unsubscribe from the newsletter at the end of each newsletter.

Legal basis and data protection regulation
In accordance with the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which applies from May 25, 2018, we inform you that consent to the sending of newsletters is based on Article 6 Paragraph 1 Letter a and Article 7 GDPR. The use of the shipping service provider Mailchimp, the implementation of statistical surveys and analyzes as well as the logging of the registration process are based on our legitimate interests in accordance with Article 6 Paragraph 1 Letter f of the GDPR. Our interest is in using a user-friendly and secure newsletter system that both serves our business interests and meets the expectations of users.
