Swiss Smart Food ORGANIC Protein Porridge in all delicious varieties is an all-around wholesome meal made carefully with high-quality ingredients. It’s ideal as a warm meal, particularly as an easily digestible breakfast, but also as an everyday snack or during competition.

Bring water to a boil. Pour into porridge and let warm for about 4 minutes. If you wish, dress it up with fresh berries, banana, or other fruits.

Power-pack your breakfast
Oats are one of the most nutritious grains. There are two types: rolled oats and oat groats. Oats are gluten-free, as long as they are not contaminated with wheat during cultivation or production.
No other grain offers more healthy nutrients and vitamins than oats, with impressive amounts of minerals and fiber. While not exactly low-calorie, oats will not make you gain weight; their healthy components satisfy appetite and fend off cravings.
As far as vitamins, minerals, and trace minerals go, oats are a real powerhouse: They contain a lot of vitamins B1, B2, B6, K, and E and also calcium, potassium, iron, phosphorous, magnesium, manganese, copper, zinc, and selenium. High-quality oats are particularly high in beta-glucans, which protect the intestinal wall and lower cholesterol and blood sugar.
Their superior complex carbohydrates are broken down slowly, providing consistent energy over a long period and holding the blood-sugar level at a healthy level. Athletes rely on oats for muscle building and energy delivery, before and after workouts. Even if your stomach refuses a large meal in the morning, oats, which are easy on the digestive system, are a healthy choice.

Not all oats are the same!
There are huge differences in quality. Choose high-quality oats by looking for these characteristics:
- Absorbancy: Whether certified organic or not, superior oats swell and soften in milk or water.
- Organic certification: Recognized, independent Swiss organic certification guarantees that these oats are grown without GMO methods or pesticides.
- Gluten-free: Oats are free of gluten, as long as they are not contaminated with wheat (which contains gluten) at the mill. Our porridge is suitable for those who are gluten-intolerant.
- Beta-glucans: High-quality oats are rich in them.
The difference between oatmeal and our porridge
Oatmeal is a simple, solid food, but not a full meal. That’s why our porridge varieties include Dates and Figs, Berries, and Swiss Chocolate Cacao Nibs, as well as the following organic ingredients:
Porridge is traditionally prepared with milk, which delivers the necessary high-quality protein and covers our body’s requirements for all essential amino acids. We deliberately select ORGANIC milk protein from Switzerland because it is the most sustainable and superior form in the Alpine region.
ORGANIC beet sugar
There’s a good reason we don’t nix sugar from this product altogether, namely that the simple sugar glucose is necessary for our circulatory systems—for breathing, running, and thinking clearly, for example. Glucose is the most important energy-delivery system for our bodies: Our brain alone burns between 130-140 grams (more than 4.5 ounces) of glucose a day.
We meticulously dose the sugar for our porridge recipe. This, in combination with milk protein and oats, keeps the glycemic response low. Not too sweet, but sweet enough, is our general principle. Sugar makes our porridge delectable and delivers energy. ORGANIC sugar from sugar beets in Switzerland is a sustainable source of energy for our bodies. It also gives us the opportunity to support regenerative agricultural practices, i.e. the cultivation of organic sugar beets.
Cinnamon regulates blood sugar, making it the ideal dietary spice. High blood-sugar levels can lead to increased storage of fat in the body. We love chocolate! We add cocoa beans as a crunchy delight and fine Swiss chocolate from one of the best chocolatiers, for a natural, chocolatey enjoyment.
It gives our porridge that note of chocolate, as taste and aroma, that makes you want more and develops wonderfully on the palate. Our porridge delivers that pure pleasure in eating that we all seek out. In fact, the glucose content together with cocoa butter leads to the production of endorphins in the brain – our happy hormones.
Berries for fitness and mood
ORGANIC goji berries
ORGANIC goji berries are known by other names in our latitudes: As common buckthorn, devil’s twine, witch’s twine, or Chinese wolfberry. In the English-speaking world, the berries of the common buckthorn together with those of the Chinese buckthorn are known as goji or Chinese wolfberry. This berry, which tends either pleasantly sweet or sour, depending on variety, has some good things going for it.
Its active ingredients are said to protect the optic nerve in cases of glaucoma. The plant’s polysaccharides have immunomodulating effects; according to some studies, extracts have strong antioxidant effects.
In China, buckthorn is used in cooking and natural medicine. The berries are harvested in summer and fall and dried in the sun. The fruits are then cooked or, if already sweet, eaten raw. Some varieties are very sour. The leaves of young plants can also be eaten in salads. Since European authorities forbid eating other parts of the plant, we use the berries exclusively. In addition to their excellent qualities, they lend our porridge a real pop.
ORGANIC sweet cherries
Our ORGANIC sweet cherry has the botanical name of bird cherry, from the rose family. The cultivated form is notable for its large, sweet fruits and are generally known as sweet cherries. Cherries contain high levels of active ingredients that do our bodies good.
This includes potassium, for which cherries rate higher than average, and the trace element zinc. Potassium plays a central role in cell supply and supports our bodies’ cleansing mechanisms. Zinc is known to support our “feel good” neurotransmitters, helping steer our mood and motivation. The redder the cherry fruit, the more healthy red plant pigments it contains. Cherries are truly a miracle fruit and so enjoyable, to boot.
Our ORGANIC cranberries, from the blueberry genus, lend a delightfully tart note. Cranberries contain high levels of anti-oxidants. Clinical studies have shown that cranberries and their juice are effect in preventing urinary tract infections. They also contain vitamins A, C, and K. Together with the other berries, they give our porridge a real kick that develops on the tongue as you chew.
Figs are one of the older domesticated crops in the Mediterranean. They are not native to Switzerland. Not only do figs taste great, they are also very healthy. In addition to fiber that aids digestion, these sweet fruits contain a variety of vitamins and minerals, such as magnesium and potassium.
They have very low levels of fat, but are rich in vitamin A, B vitamins, folic acid, biotin, phosphorous, and iron. Potassium can help normalize blood pressure, while iron is necessary for the production of healthy blood. Figs have low acidity and so are a boon to the digestion. Their many small seeds provide the intestines with a lot of healthy fiber and are a good choice against constipation. We use these wonderfully sweet fruits in our porridge as a fiber-rich energy source, one that humans have enjoyed for millennia.
One look at the nutritional values of dates, with their low fat and stores of vitamin and minerals, and it’s clear why this fruit has been a favorite energy source of desert dwellers for centuries. In addition to potassium and magnesium, dates sport iron, phosphorous, and calcium and also contain B vitamins and the amino acid tryptophan, which has a positive effect on the hormone melatonin. Melatonin is known for its calming effect on the nerves and is commonly used to promote sleep.
The fiber in dates assists our gastrointestinal tract, for example by stimulating digestion and preventing constipation. Fiber also makes us feel full. We make our porridge in our own factory, with care, attention to detail, and a lot of expert handwork.
Unlike the “Made in Switzerland” designation, we meet all the criteria of the Swissness ordinance of the Swiss Confederation—and even go far beyond. Our products are 100% produced in Switzerland. We also source ingredients regionally wherever possible, for reasons of quality control and sustainability. We make every effort to select locally and trace regional raw materials back to their sources.
In addition, we maintain the cooperation of the farmers personally, because the short distance allows close working relationships. Of course, each Swiss ingredient makes a much shorter journey than those ingredients that have to be brought in from further away. Only a few ingredients are imported. Cocoa is one of the few exceptions to the above criteria; we love it too much to do without it.
Small batches guarantee the highest quality control, but also the optimal freshness of our ingredients. We mix our fine organic porridge under Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines and are also certified organic as a company.
The stand-up pouch, the primary packaging for our porridge, fully protects the food and is also biodegradable.
Sustainable packaging from A-Z
We carefully package our porridge in food-safe, protective stand-up pouches. Since natural foods, especially oats, absorb foreign substances quickly, we have paid special attention to our packaging and equipped it with the latest innovative technology.
The primary packaging, i.e. the packaging that comes into direct contact with the food, does not contain any harmful substances—there’s no aluminum, unlike in conventional packaging (conventional paper, cardboard, plastic bags).
It’s our primary goal that our bags fully protect the product and meet the highest food standards, but they are also so pure and natural that they are compostable after use and can thus be returned to the natural cycle.
