Why Colostrum from Be The Change?
What does colostrum do?
* 817.022.108 VLtH, 12th chapter/art. 86
Article 86 of the Ordinance of the Federal Department of Home Affairs (FDHA) on Foodstuffs of Animal Origin (SR 817.022.108)
defines colostrum as the first milk produced by the mammary glands of female mammals immediately after birth. This definition forms the basis for the further provisions in Chapter 12 of the Regulation, which deals with colostrum and products derived from it.
Colostrum is particularly rich in immunoglobulins , especially IgG , which play an important role in building the newborn's immune system. These antibodies support defense against pathogens and contribute to the development of a healthy intestinal flora.
The regulation sets out specific requirements for the collection, processing, and marketing of colostrum to ensure the safety and quality of these products. These include, among other things, hygiene standards, temperature controls
and labeling regulations.
